The English Learning Centre gathers and processes your personal information in accordance with this privacy statement and in compliance with the relevant data protection Regulation and laws. This statement provides you with the necessary information regarding your rights and our obligations, and explains how, why and when we process your personal data.

This Privacy Statement describes how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information that you provide to us. The English Learning Centre is subject to any privacy and data protection laws that may be applicable in the country in which it is located.

The English Learning Centre processes your personal information to meet our legal, statutory and contractual obligations and to provide you with our services. We will never collect any unnecessary personal data from you and do not process your information in any way, other than as specified in this statement.

The source of data is mainly the registration form you complete every year at our Institute.

The type of data we may collect, and process includes:

• Contact details (including names, postal addresses, email addresses and telephone numbers);
• Employment details: occupation and work telephone number;
• Any other information you may provide to us (e.g. marital status, students’ medical information, education history and background).

English Learning Centre takes your privacy very seriously and will never disclose, share or sell your data without your consent; unless required to do so by law or under a court order. We only retain your data for as long as is necessary and for the purposes specified in this statement. The purposes and reasons for processing your personal data are detailed below:

• Contact with parents/ children
  • The School may contact children or parents through SMS, telephone or emails, in order to provide them with necessary information regarding the student’s education (homework, absence, discussion about student’s progress, behavior problems etc);
  • The School may contact child/ parent(s) through SMS, telephone or emails, in order to provide them with necessary information regarding payment of fees.
  • The School may contact child/ parent(s) through SMS, telephone or emails, in order to provide them with information regarding educational activities/ events hosted by the English Learning Centre.
  • The employees of the English Learning Centre must contact children or parents for any matter regarding the student’s education only through the School’s telephone device.

• Classter (Digital learning management system)
  • Your contact details (including names, postal addresses, email addresses and telephone numbers) will be uploaded onto the platform in order to be contacted and informed about the progress of the student.

• External Examination purposes:
  • The School provides the student’s full name and age to the Examination Center to enter them for specific exams, following the parental or guardian’s signed consent.

We do not share or disclose any of your personal information without your consent, other than for the purposes specified in this statement or where there is a legal requirement.

• Advertisement of the English Learning Centre through our website or social media
  • Photos of students/ parents/ employees of the English Learning Centre during lessons or school events/ activities might be uploaded on the School’s website (englishlearningcentre.com) or on the official Facebook Page of the English Learning Centre (www.facebook.com/englishlearningcentre/) for advertising purposes, with the written consent of the person/s depicted in the image.  In case where the person depicted in the image is minor, the written consent must come from the person’s guardian/parent through the registration form.

You have the ability to exercise any rights under applicable data protection laws including

• the right to withdraw your consent for us to use your personal data;
• the right of access to your personal data;
• to have your personal data corrected, updated, rectified or erased;

The English Learning Centre only keeps data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes (as set out above) for which it was collected. Personal data are deleted by the end of the school year in case where the student is not registered for the following academic year.

The English Learning Centre has a Data Protection Officer and all enquiries in respect of this Privacy Statement or any request to exercise any of the rights set out above should be directed to the Data Protection Officer via reception@englishlearningcentre.com.cy
